Skyways Cargo was formed in 1988 as an independent logistics supplier and consultants to commercial clients.

 

During the last 24 years we have acted as advisers to a software house developing bespoke forwarding software, consultants to a specialist freight forwarding employment bureau and spend three and a half years as consultants to the air division of a major shipping group.

 

Our senior partner was one of the first six people to be confirmed as an Aviation Security Manager under the Aviation and Maritime Security Act [1992]. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Freight Forwarders, former Regional Chairman of the British International Freight Association [BIFA] and served on the UK Management Committee of BIFA for seven years.

 

Within the company and the overseas associates we have experience and expertise spanning over a century.

IDENTITY FRAUD

 

Due to the ever increasing problems of identity fraud we would respectfully advise you that before any work is undertaken on your behalf we will seek the authenticity of your company / business and our point of contact.

 

We are happy to provide quotations for any form of logistics whether in the UK or overseas, import or export.  However the continued and sophisticated development of identity fraud requires us to take this action.

 

We trust you undertsand our position on this matter and will support us in it.

COURIER

We offer a wide range of courier services both domestically and internationally, using a wide range of courier companies. These services also include imports.

 

SEA FREIGHT

We supply global FCL and LCL services as well as import clearance at all UK sea ports.

 

AIR FREIGHT

Both consolidated and direct airline shipments are available as well as full brokerage services at all UK airports.

 

CONSULTANCY

We specialise in provide existing and prospective clients with bespoke advice and services to suit their needs. Ideally we would prefer them to contact us prior to importing or exporting as this tends to avoid problems at a later date. We not only represent our clients interests in the UK but also globally. We have a number of well established relationships with overseas agencies and add to these as the need arises.

 

Our overwhelming belief if that the only way to move freight globally is with total in-house control door to door.

 

We coordinate the shipping arrangements with suppliers and our associates and all shipments are tracked from door to door.

One of our ancillary services is that of Logistics Consultants. We invite potential importers and exporters to involve us at the very beginning of their project in order that we can steer them through the minefields.

 

We undertake short or long term contracts on a variety of remuneration options. The final options remain the choice of our clients and these are agreed at the beginning of the project.

 

In addition we provide "back-office" services for those companies who do not have a Shipping or Purchasing Department. Details of these are available on request.

 

We have undertaken many short and long term projects during our existence. Our most recent one started in August 2012 when we were retained as Procurement & Logistics Specialists for a UK company. Our brief is to source, supply and ship the project materials to Ghana. These will provide Ghana with nationwide broadband coverage and significant CCTV coverage for commercial and domestic properties
